A cuirass is a piece of armor covering the chest and back, typically made from metal or hardened leather. Its main purpose is to protect the vital organs from weapons such as swords and arrows during battle.
Origin
Cuirasses originated in ancient Greece and Rome and evolved throughout medieval and early modern Europe. Similar torso-protecting armor was also used by Korean soldiers in various periods.

Usage
