Sword Saint
劍聖 · Sword Saint — A legendary realm reached at the absolute limit of swordsmanship
The sword saint (劍聖) is a swordsman who has reached the legendary realm by training swordsmanship to the extreme, achieving the Way of martial arts. Freely wielding sword qi (the formless energy infused in the sword) and sword aura (the manifest energy emanating from the sword tip), they unleash mage-level attacks through pure sword energy alone without using magic. An extremely rare attainment with only one or two existing per era, called living legends. In Japanese history, Miyamoto Musashi (1584-1645) is regarded as the true sword saint, having never lost a duel in over 60 contests. His treatise The Book of Five Rings is the classic codifying the Way of the sword. In Chinese wuxia, characters like Jin Yong's Feng Qingyang from Smiling Proud Wanderer and Gu Long's Chu Liuxiang exemplify the type, and it's also one of the most popular classes in Korean fantasy and web novels.
Origin
A class combining the Sword Immortal (劍仙) and Sword God (劍神) concepts of wuxia novels with the Western fantasy Master Swordsman. The idea is of awakening after decades of training.
