The beast tamer (野獸調鍊師) is a profession making fierce beasts and magical creatures into companions for combat. In Western fantasy, D&D's Beast Master Ranger, Diablo's Druid, and Final Fantasy XI's Beastmaster are prominent. Japanese works like Monster Hunter present the hunter-fighting-beasts variant. Eastern tradition frequently depicts Taoist immortals or Three Kingdoms heroes commanding fierce tigers. Origin
